William "Bill" Sims, 73, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 6, 2021 at his daughter's home in Greenwood surrounded by family.

He was born on February 27, 1948 in Itta Bena, MS, to the late Jessie Levi and Amiree Reese Sims. He was a member of Pheba Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in the Men's Ministry at Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville.  He enjoyed hosting cookouts for family and friends at his farm, sharing his garden vegetables with others, and spending as much time as he could with his granddaughter Anna.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Virginia Vail and Jessie Kate Davidson.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Montpelier, MS; a daughter, Vikki (Jay) Pilecki of Greenwood, MS, a granddaughter, Anna Pilecki of Ocean Springs, MS, and two brothers, Roy Sims of Columbus, MS, and JR Sims of Philadelphia, MS.

A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in the Atlanta community with Bro. Jason Middleton officiating. The family requests no flowers or food at this time. Memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
