William "Glenn" Taylor, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 13th. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 17th, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton, MS, with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Wilson and Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Taylor was born January 19, 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Snow Taylor. He was the youngest of eight children, all of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 55 years, Dorthy Kenwright Taylor.

He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Hollingsworth and Rebecca Wilson (Dennis), both of Brandon, MS. Mr. Taylor also leaves behind five grandsons, Taylor Wilson, Ben Wilson (Kassie), Luke Hollingsworth (Jessica), Clark Hollingsworth and Jake Hollingsworth; and one great granddaughter, Rosaleigh Ann Wilson.

Glenn grew up in and around the Greenwood area and has been a resident of Brandon for the past 38 years. He retired from the Mississippi Employment Security Commission in 1986 after 32 years, with 19 of those spent in Clarksdale. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948 and the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1952 until 1968.

Mr. Taylor was a faithful member of the Community Christian Church. He loved the outdoors and thoroughly enjoyed sailing in his younger days. He was also a lover of animals and enjoyed many pets through the years.
