Winn David Reaves , 41, of Greenwood, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, A.J. and Sue Vowell, and paternal grandfather, Abner Reaves.  He is survived by his parents, David (Windie) and Carol Reaves of Greenwood, MS; two sisters, Kerri (Glen) Grossman of Itta Bena, MS, and Shannon Perry of Wentzville, MO; and a grandmother, Ellanor Reaves of Greenwood, MS. Winn David was a beloved uncle to A.J. Reaves, Keesler Perry, Steele Perry, and Carre Perry.

Winn David had a love for the outdoors his whole life. He spent countless hours hunting in his youth with his father, grandfather, uncle, and friends.  He loved hiking, fishing, and photographing everything he found in nature. He took great pleasure in his later years making art and jewelry from the natural gemstones he found. These are treasured keepsakes for his family and friends.

He considered his friends his family.  He loved spending time at music festivals across the country with his chosen family.  He cared more for others and all creatures great and small than he did for himself. His heart was so big, his generosity was so abundant, and his love was genuine.  He is loved and dearly missed.

Winn David was not afraid of death and stated many a time what his wishes were when it came for him.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the West President Church of Christ in Greenwood, MS. Doug Segars and Gene Barrett will officiate the service. His ashes will lie in the most sacred places to him in the woods.

In lieu of flowers, he would love nothing more than for you to plant a tree, buy yourself a plant, or go take a long walk in the woods.
